What kind of signing day drama awaits the Georgia Bulldogs?

By Chip Towers

ATHENS – Good morning and welcome to national signing day. We have big plans for you.

I’m at Georgia’s Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall this morning monitoring the Bulldogs’ recruiting efforts. NCAA rules allow for national letters-of-intent to be signed as early as a 7 a.m. and I’ll be in place to report the first one.

If you’re keeping up from home or the office, there are two ways to monitor the day’s events. First, you can follow me on my Twitter page — @ajcuga. I’ll be putting up the bare bones news there as soon as it comes in. If you search Twitter for the hashtags #SigningDay or #NationalSigningDay, you’ll be able to dial up all our recruiting tweets on Georgia Tech, Georgia State, SEC and ACC teams and the state’s top recruits.

Secondly, keep your browser on the AJC sports page or ajc.com/sports. There you’ll find a continuously-updated, real-time Georgia recruiting news story that will chronicle the events in Athens throughout the entire day. To be clear about it, that’s on the MAIN SPORTS PAGE, not here on the blog. I’ll update this blog eventually, and probably more than once, but not until there’s a significant break in the day’s signings.

A quick summary: The Bulldogs head into Wednesday with the nation’s No. 10-ranked recruiting class, according to the composite rankings of 247Sports.com. But they could easily go up or down from there depending on what happens throughout the day. Will Georgia sign Norcross’ Lorenzo Carter, the state’s top recruit? Will the Bulldogs be able to flip  ELCA’s Andrew Williams from Auburn and/or Clemson? Will they land wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, Sony Michel’s 4-star teammate, at the last minute?

Stick around with us and we’ll see what happens. …

Tell em THEBuckeye!  Nothing better than coming on a UGA blog and telling everyone about our THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES!  We would have been the 2013 NATIONAL CHAMPS if it weren't for playing those stupid ranked teams!  2014 Champs for sure though!

Urban's day was done when Malik McDowell said a very loud, "NO!" this morning.   And I would say Georgia's drama has been very positive this morning and I expect the drama will get even louder when Carter commits later today.

Bucky....It's OK to "come out". It's well received nowadays. You can even get married in some states. You and TheBuckeye1 could post as "BuckyBucky1&2"....another "Dream Team".

Now now, you should not be name calling to your only friend.  So are we staying on here all day or should we go "harass" and "stalk" UGA fans on other blogs?  This is our life so let me know!

THEBuckeyes1
THEBuckeyes1

How is this stalking?  You asked me to play on here with you.  Remember you said that YOU/WE need to constantly "stalk" UGA blogs and fans.

All a recruit has to do to make the headlines is .....commit, then de-commit! When that plays out, then re-commit. The media will love you for that. Something to write about and blow out of proportion.

@Buckeye.....

Why are you on a Georgia blog on NSD?  By the way, Malik McDowell just committed to Michigan State over Ohio State, Michigan, and FSU.  Sounds like the Michigan State beat down of your Buckeyes is going to continue.

TheBuckeye.....He Bucky! I see your life partner, TheBuckeye1 is back on the blog. The change operation must have been a  success.

@THEBuckeye  Heck yea!  These rankings DO MATTER a lot!  They are always dead on!  Bama and Ohio State in the National Championship for the next several years!  Book it!  And we will own Bama since we own the SEC!

@TampGator1  Um, our D line is young with lots of able bodies in front on a freshman, He wouldn't see the field for two years.
