Mason, Green among standouts in Dogs’ first scrimmage of spring

ATHENS — Scrimmages are a tricky thing to gauge. If the offense does well, then it was a bad day for the defense and vice versa.

So it’s probably a good thing when the general consensus among the Bulldogs and their coach was that Saturday’s controlled scrimmage at Sanford Stadium would have to be considered a draw.

“There were highs and lows on both sides, which I guess is good,” said senior receiver Chris Conley, who caught back-to-back touchdown passes from Hutson Mason. “That’s something you want to see. There was competitiveness on both sides by everyone. I can’t really pick a true winner of the day. I guess Georgia won.”
