1. Everett Golson is going to visit the University of Georgia, probably not today but likely this week. This much I’ve been able to confirm.

Beyond that, it’s anybody’s guess what that means.

MONDAY REWIND

1. No. 12 Georgia’s 45-21 win over No. 16 Clemson was impressive. It’s being compared to the 2007 “Blackout Game” against Auburn and I think that’s a pretty good parallel. Remember, the Bulldogs actually trailed Auburn 20-17 in the third quarter of that game. Saturday’s contest was similarly close, tied 21-all well into the third quarter. But then Georgia got hot and put together a 24-0 finish

ATHENS — OK, I’ll be filing a more comprehensive report on Georgia’s second scrimmage of the spring practice. All or parts of it will be posted on AJC.com and MyAJC.com a little later and, of course, you can read the whole thing in the Sports section of the Sunday newspaper.

ATHENS — Got a rare treat this afternoon as Georgia coach Mark Richt allowed reporters to watch the entire football practice. As far as I can remember, and I haven’t covered the team every year Richt has been here since 2001, but it’s the first time I recall him permitting that.

That used to be standard operating procedure in past days. I recall covering some Vince Dooley and Ray Goff practices
