UPDATED: UGA baseball opener is postponed, gym meet canceled, basketball team still in Starkville

UPDATE: Georgia baseball’s season opener against Georgia Southern scheduled for Friday night has been postponed until noon Saturday and will be the first game of a double-header. Field conditions are unplayable. . . . Also, the Gym Dogs’ home meet against Missouri scheduled for Friday night has been canceled due to travel issues for the Tigers. . . . Georgia coach Mark Richt displays some mad curling skills

Georgia coach Mark Richt and his family were making the most out of the icy conditions at his house in Oconee County, southwest of Athens, Wednesday afternoon. Richt posted a video of him and his son trying their hand at curling. Posing with a push broom over his shoulder, Richt tells YouTube viewers, “This may not be Sochi, but it’s the next best thing!” Not sure about the Richt’s knowledge of the game, what with the makeshift goal of end tables and celebrating a shot through them (there are no goals in curling).
