Todd Gurley is out for Missouri, but is he out at Georgia for good?

ATHENS – Here’s what we know for certain at this juncture — Todd Gurley is not going to play for Georgia against Missouri on Saturday.

Among the many things we don’t know is if Gurley will ever play again for the Bulldogs.

Gurley did not practice on Thursday and wasn’t even with the team. The Bulldogs will depart for Columbia, Mo., on Friday and Gurley is not expected to be with them.

Herschel Walker is stepping into a new arena.

The legendary Georgia running back, who has played in NFL stadiums and has fought professionally in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), has entered the political ring. Not as a candidate. Walker is featured in a new television spot on endorsing Republican Congressman Jack Kingston of Savannah.

Kingston is currently in a run-off with David Perdue of Sea Island for the Republican nomination for a U.S.

ATHENS – Thanks to a grand-slam-highlighted, series-clinching win over No. 7 South Carolina on Sunday, the Georgia baseball team is in position to make it back into the SEC Tournament. But there remains work to be done.

Daniel Nichols hit a grand-slam home run on Sunday to power the Bulldogs to a 5-3 win over the Gamecocks on Sunday. It game Georgia its first series win over South Carolina since 2008.

McGarity speaks frankly about expectations for Georgia basketball program

ATHENS – The University of Georgia on Wednesday announced a two-year contract extension for men’s basketball coach Mark Fox. That means it will expire at the end of the 2017-18 season.

Fox’s fifth Georgia team went 20-14 this past season and finished in a tie for second place in the SEC with a 12-6. Fox has an overall record of 85-77 and an SEC record of 40-44 heading into his sixth season.

ATHENS —  Georgia coach Mark Richt came a little closer Tuesday to revealing some of his disciplinary plans for the players who have run afoul of team and school policies since last season. But he stopped shortly of making a definitive ruling on the four players accused of theft.
