UGA legend Herschel Walker wades into political waters

Herschel Walker is stepping into a new arena.

The legendary Georgia running back, who has played in NFL stadiums and has fought professionally in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), has entered the political ring. Not as a candidate. Walker is featured in a new television spot on endorsing Republican Congressman Jack Kingston of Savannah.

Kingston is currently in a run-off with David Perdue of Sea Island for the Republican nomination for a U.S.

GREENSBORO – According to a 2009 Sports Illustrated article, by the time NFL players have been retired for two years, 78 percent are either bankrupt or under significant financial stress. Sixty percent of former NBA players are broke within five years of retirement, according to the same report.
